Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

WeVideo is an online video editor that students and teachers can use to capture, create, view and share movies. It is a good alternative to iMovie for non-mac devices and access from shared devices in general.

K-5 math curriculum that follows the EngageNY curriculum. Includes video explanations where students take notes and have question prompts, independent practice and then can ultimately unlock an exit ticket. Teacher dashboard to monitor student progress.

Flipgrid is a web based tool which works on Chromebook, computers, Android and iOS devices to allow students to view a question or topics (which can be a video you add or record) and then record a response, and view/reply to their classmates. Grids can be open or locked and embedded into any LMS or website. Topics spark ideas and fuel the conversation.  Site gives teachers one free grid.  This grid can be edited and used again and again.  The paid version provides multiple grids and other useful options.  From the University of Minnesota.

Bounce is a literacy tool that enables teachers/students to screenshot an entire webpage and annotate it with selection boxes with a comment feature to add context.

Gooru is a lesson-unit-course building tool. Teachers can curate content from the internet, remix featured courses and assign content to students. Gooru has a robust data dashboard that allows teachers to monitor student progress to inform personalized learning strategies.

Symbaloo is a visual website management tool. It allows you to create multiple bookmarks organized like a digital bulletin board to help you and your students (bookmarks can be anything with a web address: Google Docs, YouTube Video, website, etc.)
