After teaching the Everyday Mathematics program for years and observing that students struggle with partial quotients long division, I realized the need to create a multiple day workshop on partial quotients division. By the end of the workshop, students will master dividing a four digit number by a one digit number using the strategy of partial quotient division.

This unit builds on the student's prior learning of how to find a rule that takes a given input value to exactly one output value. In this unit students will be able to identify when a relation is a function and use proper vocabulary (domain and range) and function notation as well as notation for domain and range.

In this unit, students will be introduced to poetry. Students will learn about the different types of poetry characteristics through the use of poetry books, prezi presentations, music, and spoken word.

This is a unit plan for teaching ancient Greek literature in the form of The Odyssey to ninth graders. This unit is aimed at a population of struggling readers. It utilizes kahoot and quizlet online, and asks students to develop their own "kahoots", where students will develop the comprehension questions for each other. Links are provided in the unit plan.
In this unit, students build on their prior work with area and explore ways to find the area of rectangles with fractional side lengths. Students also learn about volume as an attribute of solid figures. Using improvised units, they explore volume and build toward using cubic units and volume formulas.
