We will be using our economics background from the history of Lumber to guide us in understanding how buying products locally affects our community’s economy. We will be creating a public service announcement to persuade people in our community to buy products locally, in order to help our local economy.

Assign leveled books for informational writing. The students will read an assigned biographical text in Epic Books. In SeeSaw, the students would respond to questions about biographical research. The students will use technology for research and response.

Student will learn and review the basics of playing a recorder. They will review note names on the staff, orchestra families and instruments. Students will use face to face lessons, online video lessons, small group activities and iPad apps to review in class and at home three simple songs.

Students will learn how sound travels through different materials. They will be involved in activities to explore how they can create sounds using different materials. They will be involved in activities to experience pitch and volume and how you can create different pitch and volume using different materials. They will design an instrument using recycled materials.

Students will learn how to engage in a robotics club. Students will work in teams to design and build a robot to complete a series of given tasks. Students will also learn how to program a robot to perform certain functions.
