Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Technology Literacy

We will be using our economics background from the history of Lumber to guide us in understanding how buying products locally affects our community’s economy.

Students will identify the need for new historical accounts and construct interactive timeline of Michigan’s past.  Each student will adopt a different historical perspective, either Native American or European, to drive their timeline.

Students begin the unit learning about what robots are and how humans use robots to avoid dull, dirty, or dangerous work. Students will complete several tasks that require them to design a solution to a problem while following the given criteria and constraints, while also learning about inputs and outputs on a robot.

Transdisciplinary Theme: How We Express Ourselves: An Inquiry into the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity; our appreciation of the aesthetic.

Students will investigate how color communicates and inspires.  This is a transdisciplinary IB unit that integrates literacy, math, science, and social studies.

This unit is an introduction to using the Google Classroom.  In it, students have lessons that utilize some of the different features in the classroom, focusing on the materials the teacher pushes out to students.  The first lesson concerns logging in and the difference between an announcement and assignment.

This is an overview of face-to-face and blended learning options to support Unit 5 of the Everyday Math program concerning place value, incluing < > =, double digit addition/subtraction, and the use of base-10 blocks.

In this 3 week unit, students will be learning to use Microsoft Sway. Sway is a presentation programthat's part of the Microsoft Office family. Students will be shown a video about Swaythen they will go through a step by step guide to using Sway. Students will be using Sway and Paint to recreate a children's storybook to present to an elementary class.

Students will acclimate themselves to the district, school and classroom policies regarding safety and netiquette when using the worldwide web and create presentations about the policies.
