Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Science

VoiceThread is a mobile and web application that is centered on group discussions around a digital medium. It was created to capture author and participant responses with “the compassion, emotion, and expressiveness of the human voice”. Students on VoiceThread can be both producers and consumers of the content within each digital container, referred to as a thread.

Diigo is a tool that allows users a safe place to search for, bookmark, organize, annotate, collaborate on and share online resources.

Kami allows you to annotate and collaborate on PDF files. Collaborators have options to highlight, strikethrough, underline, select, and text to annotate the PDF. Kami Support

Google Docs allows you to share and collaborate with others simultaneously on documents.

Padlet allows users to collect information and pin it onto a virtual bulletin board. Videos, text, links and images can be dragged and dropped onto the board on virtual sticky notes.

Described as a “digital worksheet tool”, Wizer is a robust tool that can be used to create formative or summative assessments, activities and general learning tasks.

EdPuzzle is a tool that allows you to turn videos into assessments by integrating questions, audio voice-overs and will even note how much of the video the students watched, if they jumped ahead, etc. 

Pear Deck is a simple interactive presentation tool that allows teachers to poll students, give quizzes and check for understand in a simple to use platform.  Pear Deck allows teachers to share presentations on students devices.
