This unit was created for 7th/8th grade students in a Resource Room /Guided Studies classroom. It is a unit for self-reflection, career exploration, and career skills for success. It is intended to be completed in 8 days and includes time for concluding presentations and post assessments.
This introductory unit is based on the first chapter in accounting covering how to create an accounting equation for a service business owned by a sole proprietor. This unit is based on the use of South-Westerns Century 21 Accounting 9Ed textbook by Gilbertson and Lehman.

This unit was designed as a way to meet some of the social/behavioral/emotional skills that some elementary students lack, for any number of reasons. When students don't have some of these basic skills it often interferes with their ability to perform academically.
This retailing lesson will have the students learning about Market Research, identifying the difference between primary and secondary research. They will decide where the best place is to open their business along with learning about advertising and setting prices.
This is a Haiku page that I am using as a developmental platform for building this lesson. It contains the entire standard 5 Insurance. However, the only section of this lesson that are currently populated are standard 5.1. The lesson includes a SMART board presentation students give their ideas for risks that they might face.
Students will learn how to develop and implement study skills. This lesson is a support to enhance academic skills that students learn in the classroom. At the end of the lesson students will develop a plan for time management and have at least three study skill techniques that they can implement into their study time.

This is a unit designed to increase students' knowledge of proper nutrition and, the importance of physical activity and a healthy diet, and the recommended dietary and physical activity guidelines for teens.
