Dear LOR user,
Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform.

Materials/Resources: Chromebooks (1 per student), Go Math Login (example of an unrelated Animated Math Model is shown here: https://youtu.be/I8-DqDDmJ9Y)
Introduction/Warm-Up:
Previously, we had several lessons to introduce what factors and multiples are and how to find them. After a quick review of this, we will get logged in to their Go Math Think Central accounts.
Procedure/Activities:
After guiding them through the process to get to the appropriate Animated Math Model (AMM), the students will go through the guided practice.
The model uses a strategy similar to Anita Archer’s ‘I do, We do, You do’. In the AMM, it is called Learn the Math, Do the Math, Independant Practice and Quiz. The students work through these sections at their own pace in a fun, game-like manner.
Lesson Conclusion/Summary: (optional)
As each student completes the lesson they will move back to the textbook to complete the practice section there as a way for me to monitor their understanding of the previous lessons and AMM.
Overall, this tool is helpful as another way for students to get information and practice on these math skills that doesn’t involve listening to me. They enjoy using technology and appreciate switching it up.
