Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Colonial Life During the 1700s

Description: 

In this blended unit, designed for 5th grade, the students will explore colonial life in the North America during the 1700s before the American Revolution. They will investigate the various perspectives of the groups of people living in the colonies during this time. They will also explore how different aspects such as economics, location, and beliefs effected the lives of the people. The length of the unit is flexible based on time allotments.

Learning Targets: 
Describe daily life of people living in the three colonial regions.
Compare the perspectives of colonial life from three or more groups of people.
Explore the economics of colonial labor forces and describe its effect on the people.
