Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Digital Photography 1 Journal Entries

Description:

Each week students will be creating a visual journal entry that allows them to explore the different Photographers who take pictures that directly relate to the Photo Assignments they will be doing. Students will do research online on a theme each week and find a minimum of 12 different Photographers images and create a collage via Photocollage.com. They will include the title, date, Artist and site. They will publish the collages to their Google Classroom account along with the answers to the questions. They will also look at another class mates work and make constructive comments. Students will also gain a broader base of Photographers.

The intent of the Journal Entry or Design Brief research is to allow students to explore Digital Photography through their own lens. I will give them presentations on each type of Photography before they take their pictures but the research is to help them find their own style. This will also promote students to be prepared for the Projects (backward or flipped design). This is part of a portfolio of Visual Ethnography and its process that they will post on their Google Classroom only.

Learning Targets:
Build a visual library to support their Visual Ethnography.
How images are used to evoke a response for the audience/ viewer.
