Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Experimental Probability Unit- Grade 7

This is a mini unit on Experimental Probability. Direct instruction is still built into this object for face to face classroom time.  There are videos that are interactive and allow for the students or teacher to walk through 2-3 examples for each lesson. Some of these may not be accessible if you have not purchased HMH GO Math for your district as they are resources from the HMH GO Math text. These videos could be used with the full class, small rotational groups, or partners. They can also be linked to google classroom or moodle for revisiting individually outside of class. There are online resources such as simulations for probability, free video examples, practice for prerequisite skills, and eventually copies of classroom notes will be linked.

Learning Targets:
Find the probability of a simple event and its complement.
Find the experimental probability of a simple and compound event.
Design and use a simulation to generate frequencies for simple and compound events.
Use experimental probability to make predictions.
