It's easier for students to use music projected on the board rather than using a hard copy. I only have 2 music stands so music is otherwise on their laps or floor. Projecting music on the board and online helps students maintain good posture and allows one to physically direct (by pointing) which notes we are reading, singing and playing.

The lessons are presented covering a one month period at a pretty quick pace. I'm able to meet with students three times a week for 30 minutes. The pacing can be adjusted to fit the differentiated needs of each class. It takes time for students to become comfortable playing and reading music; muscle memory takes over after a while. It helps if students are familiar with the note names on the staff but it isn't necessary. It was particularly difficult for students who recently arrived from China. They didn't know the alphabet letters so prompts that often work with students like Every,good,boy deserves fudge and FACE were confusing.

Headphones are essential for some of the apps, especially Blob chorus otherwise students working in proximity can't hear their own music and sounds.

Using web links like SeeSaw or Google classroom can be a big help when assessing student recordings. Students can record a song at home or during lunch and I can listen to it anytime. It allows me to keep teaching rather than stopping and starting new music to assess 75+ students after each song.
