How are the standards/objectives assessed?

The standards are not assessed during this lesson. The literacy lesson is a way to practice sight word fluency for kindergarten students.

Student prerequisite skills and knowledge

There are no prerequisites to this literacy lesson. It is a great introduction lesson for each new sight word and allows students to see and hear the sight word before they are able to produce the word on their own and upload it to their portfolio.

What concepts or procedures are being explained or demonstrated in this lesson object?

The students will be taught how to use SeeSaw to write their sight word and the tools on the app that they will need to us. Students will also be taught how to upload their own work to their own portfolio by following a series of steps that they will have to follow each time they upload materials to SeeSaw.

What was your experience, both successes and challenges, using this lesson object with your students?

My experience with SeeSaw and practicing sight words was successful. The first time that we used SeeSaw to practice sight words, it took lots of practice and the students were told how to upload their own work by teacher directions. The literacy lesson provides the students with a visual and auditory lesson to practice sight word fluency and also enables the students to be independent with practicing writing their sight words.
