Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

A movie for your autobiography, starring YOU


Part 1 and part 2 of this lesson has an upper elementary create an animoto video about themselves or their family in some way.


Assignment:  Make a video with Animoto, to help us learn about YOU!


Here are the choices from which to choose:

  1. About the author video.

  2. Interview someone on video.

  3. Choice - something which teaches us about you about which we didn’t know.

Students will get an internet agreement chat and survey, as well as lots of tips and tricks with animoto.


Students will also learn how to take pictures and make video shorts on chromebooks.


In part 2 of this unit, kids will add features, zing, preview, publish, and edit.  They will share on projector and use padlet to reflect.

With some guidance and support from adults, to use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others;
To reflect on their current knowledge and add to it.
To introduce a topic, and use details to back it up.
To exhibit a personal style and voice while considering audience and purpose.
To develop the topic with facts, definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples related to the topic.
