Spanish Clothing Unit

Description: 

Students will explore clothing vocabulary and local currency of Spanish-speaking countries. Through Total Physical Response, Kahoot!, and various games, students will learn and practice use of vocabulary such as: pantalones, camisa, zapatos, gorro, botas, bufanda, sombrero, sueter, chaqueta, sandalias, traje de bano, gafas, etc. 

Learning Targets: 
Identify articles of clothing in target language
Convert the local currency into USD

What was your experience, both successes and challenges, using this lesson object with your students?

My students LOVED playing Guess Who with pictures of themselves rather than pre-selected images. It encouraged them to ask for more vocabulary. The videos turned out amazing, but I didn't plan enough time for creating them. In the future, I will give them more time in class to work on their projects and highly recommend students film each part separately and edit together. For others, I recommend finding the ugliest, most out-of-date clothing for Musical Clothes (students are much more engaged when they know someone is going to look ridiculous).
