Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

"We-Search" Google Slides Group Project for Pictures of Hollis Woods

This is a unit plan in which students will work in small groups and use technology to research different topics related to a class novel, Pictures of Hollis Woods by Patricia Reilly Giff.  They will then use this information to create a Google Slides presentation to share with the class.  This “We-Search” activity will be structured as a jigsaw.

Learning Targets:
Research a specific topic using reliable online and/or print resources.
Take notes without plagiarizing.
Use notes to create Google Slides with images and multimedia components.
Use EasyBib to create an accurate "Works Cited" list in MLA format.
Work together as a group to edit and improve slides before presenting to the class.
