Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Unit

In this unit students will learn the essentials for 3rd grade language arts by participating in a hybrid of both online and classroom learning.. They will use both projects and online assessments to show and apply what they have learned.

This mini unit is created to be used in a blended learning environment.  Much of the online information will be posted to my classroom blog for students to access.  I have included access here to the Blind Kahoot and the PlayPosit.

This is a six week unit plan for 6th grade Mythology unit for a blended classroom.  Students will write their own myth online.    They also take quizzes online.  Microsoft online has been used to create a Powerpoint mix to introduce this unit.

This unit will have students take a close look at limits.  Students will gain a better understanding of how limits work, how to algebraically simplify expressions to find the limit, how to look at a graph and know the limit and the ideas about continuous functions.

In this unit, students will consider the impact of the many changes that took place during the 16th-18th centuries in Europe. Students will use multiple methods to examine the technological advancements of the Scientific Revolution, the conflict that this brought with the Church, and how scientists reconciled their beliefs about God with their new discoveries.

This is a three week blended poetry unit for fourth grade.  Students will be exposed to a wide range of poetry styles through hard copy and online resources.  Students will discuss and understand poetry vocabulary.  By adding online resources, students will have a much wider range of resources for a more thorough understanding.

In this unit students will pick a cat/dog that needs to be adopted and write a persuasive piece to persuade someone to adopt the cat/dog.  Several students in my class are passionate about cats. Their passion is spreading to other students in my class.  Their passion is driving this persuasive unit.

When using this tool teachers will be able to develop effective transition plans for students with disabilities of transition age.  Teachers will also be able to transition plan early for students with autism age 3-12.

Over five class periods, students explore the topic “Should Everyone Get a Trophy?” as they prepare to write a five paragraph essay argumentative essay. This unit is an extension of the Word Generation materials created by SERP (Series 3 Unit 3.21).
