## Status message

Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform.

## Tierra Jackson 3rd Grade Math Unit 2: Number Stories & Arrays

In this unit, 3rd graders practice making sense of one and two step number stories involving all four operations.  Practice may include diagrams, arrays, pictures, words, and number models.

## Solving Systems of Equations

Students have mastered solving equations and looking at solutions graphically. This unit is an extension and will have students investigate how to find to two equations. This unit will utilize investigate and exploration,  with some direct instruction, to solidify the process and procedures to finding and identifying solutions to systems.

## Introduction to Functions

This is a unit that formalizes the definition of functions. Students will connect the idea of mathematical relationships to the concept of functions. With a mix of direct instruction, guided notes with procedural practice, and individual practice, this unit will ground students in the concept and provide a deep understanding of its usefulness.

## Identifying Triangles

In this Unit, students are expected to learn to identify and describe triangles in the learning environment as well as in the real world.  Students will engage in class whole class instruction and discussion, small group conversation, and individual exploration using a combination of visuals, manipulatives, games, and online resources.

## Algebra - Ch. 10 - Polynomials and Factoring

In this chapter, students will learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide polynomials using a couple of different methods.  Students will also learn how to factor binomials (standard and special products) and trinomials and solve quadratic equations by completing the square.

## Algebra II: Equations and Inequalities

My blended unit planning document title is called, "Equations and Inequalities."  I will start chapter one by reviewing what they have learned from the last section or prior knowledge in this case.  I will then have students take notes using Gist Notes.  I have included the website below.  Then students will work on an assignment from Khan Academy.

## Operations with Polynomials

Learning what polynomials are, how to add, subtract and multiply them.

## Solving a System of Equations involving two variables.

Students will be able to solve a system of equations  using substitution, elimination and graphing techniques. Primary focus is on linear systems with two variables.  Exploration is on systems involving quadratics, linears and circles with graphing.
