Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan (link is external) on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform (link is external).

Social Studies

This US History unit attempts to explore and understand the Progressive Era of US History.  It deals with both the challenges and reforms of this time period while utilizing primary sources, visual aids, and technology to facilitate learning for students.

Does geography determine destiny? This Unit encompasses the prehistory eras 1 and 2 of the State of Michigan Standards. It includes essential vocabulary, resources to teach migration, Paleolithic life, and Neolithic time eras. This unit will also help to teach timelines and includes an online book resource along with a reading guide.

This unit, designed for a freshman Civics course, focuses on the basics of American citizenship.  The unit introduces the requirements of being an American citizen, how one can become an American citizen, and how American citizenship has been molded over the course of our nation's history.

In 7th grade Ancient History, we end the year discussing different governments and economies. Students will be able to describe how individuals, businesses, and governments make economic decisions. Students will be able to describe patterns and networks of economic interdependence, including trade.
