Dear LOR user,

Thank you for being a big part of this community. To better support the initiatives around open educational resources in the state of Michigan, all resources on the Michigan Virtual Learning Object Repository (LOR) are being moved to #GoOpen Michigan on September 30th, 2018. During the transition, our LOR will be moved to an archived state, not allowing new user registration or new content to be added. An email with more details was sent to registered users of the LOR in September. To make use of the great resources on the platform, we encourage you to create an account and add your own new resources to the #GoOpen Michigan platform.

Literacy

Classkick allows users to share assignments, monitor student progress, and give feedback.  Users can use images, audio, and text to create assignments.

Writable allows teachers to manage student writing by providing writing prompts, opportunities to peer edit, and the ability to revise using feedback.

With H5P, authors may create and edit interactive videos, presentations, games and more. Content may be imported and exported. All that is needed to view or edit H5P content is a web browser. 

Newseum ED provides free online resources to cultivate the skills to authenticate, analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources and to provide historical context to current events.

Students will identify the need for new historical accounts and construct interactive timeline of Michigan’s past.  Each student will adopt a different historical perspective, either Native American or European, to drive their timeline.

The central idea of this unit is: living things coexist and are interdependent.  In this unit, students will learn about how living things get what they need from the environment, how living things rely on each other, and how humans can affect their environment.  After learning about these things, students will write a narrative piece of writing about animal friendships.

Buncee is a tool that allows teacher and students to create! Buncee's platform allows for creation of interactive digital content. 

Peergrade is a platform that allows teachers to create assignments and upload rubrics. Students upload work and are anonymously assigned peer work to review according to the rubric.
